COMMAND ADVISORY · PRIVATE COUNSEL FOR MEN WHO CARRY WEIGHT

The men who need mealready look fine.

You have people advising the business. Nobody is working on the man running it. Not a coach, not a consultant with a deck, and not a therapist who will ask how that makes you feel. A licensed clinician who spent twenty years under real pressure, retained privately by a small number of men who want the truth about themselves more than they want to be handled.

WHY MEN AT YOUR LEVEL RETAIN ME

The higher you go, the worse your information gets.

Not about the business. About yourself. Everyone with access to you has an interest in your approval, and the ones who do not have access are guessing. You are making consequential decisions on intelligence nobody has been willing to correct in years.

Everyone is paid to agree

Your leadership reports to you. Your board wants returns. Your advisors want the retainer. Every one of them has learned what you like to hear, and every one of them has adjusted. That is not disloyalty. It is arithmetic.

You cannot say it at home

Your wife carries enough of it already. Your people cannot see you uncertain without it costing something. So the weight goes nowhere, and it comes out sideways in decisions made under pressure.

Nobody has audited you

You have consultants for the company, counsel for the risk, and a board for the strategy. Every one of them examines something outside of you. Not one has ever looked at the beliefs you are running while you make the calls.

You have no leadership of others until you have leadership of yourself.

MARCUS AURELIUS, WHO RAN AN EMPIRE
SCOPE

What this is, and what it is not.

Men at your level do not need a therapist and would not hire one. They also do not need another opinion about the business. What they lack is one person working on the man himself, with no stake in the outcome and no reason to soften anything.

What it is

  • Direct access. You text, I call you shortly. Not scheduled, not queued, not routed through anyone.
  • Standing deep work on the beliefs generating your reactions, your blind spots, and the way you operate under load.
  • A man who will tell you what is actually running you, whether or not you want to hear it that day.
  • Absolute discretion. Nothing about our arrangement is discussed, referenced, or marketed.

What it is not

  • Not business advice. I will not have an opinion on your acquisition, your hire, or your strategy. That is not my lane and I will not pretend it is.
  • Not therapy. No diagnosis, no fifty-minute hour, no working through your childhood.
  • Not executive coaching. I have no framework about your org chart and no interest in your quarterly.
  • Not support. I am not here to validate you. You have people for that already.
METHOD

I do not manage your feelings. I go after the belief producing them.

Two thousand years ago the Stoics established that men are not disturbed by events but by their judgments about events. In the 1950s Albert Ellis turned that into a clinical method with a disputation engine. I spent fifteen years translating it into the vocabulary of men who carry weight.

DIAGNOSE

Find the standing order

Every man is running rules he never chose and has never examined. Installed young, installed under pressure, still operating. Most of what looks like a decision problem is a belief problem wearing a suit.

DISPUTE

Put it under examination

Then it gets tested against the standard of evidence rather than the standard of how strongly you feel it. Where is the proof. Who told you that. Would it hold up in court.

  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, applied at the level of command
  • Stoic discipline as practice, not quotation
  • Direct disputation, delivered by a man with nothing to lose by delivering it
COMMAND

Build what runs instead

Breaking a false belief is half the work. The other half is the identity that operates without it, so the same pressure produces a different man the next time it arrives. Not feeling better. Being harder to knock over.

OUR PROPRIETARY METHODOLOGY

The Citation Challenge™

The core clinical disputation tool used across all Dr. Trevor Wilkins services.

The Citation Challenge™ is the proprietary clinical disputation methodology developed by Dr. Trevor Wilkins over fifteen years of clinical work with public safety populations. It asks the operator to test their own beliefs against the standard of evidence: Where is the proof? Who told you that? Would it hold up in court? The methodology integrates Albert Ellis’s foundational REBT framework with Stoic philosophical inquiry, translated into the operational vocabulary of the men who carry weight.

The Citation Challenge™ is integrated into:

  • Command Advisory retainers with executives, founders and senior leaders
  • One-on-one trauma therapy sessions with Dr. Wilkins
  • The EMDR Intensive program for accelerated trauma resolution
  • Speaking and training engagements with agencies and conferences
WHY ME

I was in the middle of it long before I studied it.

Twenty years in uniformed public safety, working specialized high-risk assignments where the decisions were immediate and the consequences were other people. I left the job on a medical separation. I know precisely what happens to a capable man who carries load for two decades without ever auditing what is running him.

Then I went and got the education to do something about it. I am a licensed clinician with a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, a second doctorate in trauma-informed care underway, and an Associate Fellowship at the Albert Ellis Institute, a distinction held by few clinicians in the world. I am EMDR certified under the late Dr. E.C. Hurley, who did the foundational work on combat trauma with operators and veterans.

That combination does not really exist elsewhere. Most people who understand pressure have no clinical depth. Most people with clinical depth have never been under it. I teach this at the national level, I am under contract with agencies responsible for more than nine hundred personnel, and I keep a small number of private retainers with men who wanted something the market does not offer.

FIT

Who this works for.

I take a small number of men and I turn down more than I accept. Not scarcity as a tactic. The work requires access, and access is finite.

The man it works for

Owns something real. Carries consequence for other people. Wants to be corrected about himself rather than congratulated about his company, and has enough left in the tank to do something with the correction.

The man it does not

Wants an ally in an argument he has already decided. Wants a credential to reference. Wants to be told he is right by someone qualified enough to make it count.

How it starts

One conversation, no charge, no obligation on either side. I will tell you honestly whether I am the right man for what you are carrying. If I am not, I will say so.

Request a conversation.

Tell me what you are carrying and what you have already tried. I answer these personally, and nothing you send goes anywhere else.
